I work in Architecture, but consider myself a multifaceted designer (as well as a Multipotentialite).
I was born in Pakistan, moved to Texas in high school, and currently live in Austin. I come from a very multicultural mixed family; my mother is Arab/Turkish and my father is Uzbek/Uyghur and neither of them lived in their home countries (we really are a line of immigrants). Growing up in three different continents, I’ve been fortunate enough to be exposed to varied aspects of the built environment from a young age. With that and design school, I’ve been able to fine tune my creative perspective to be sensitive in regards to space, time and place. Besides design, I’m passionate about mentoring youth (check out GirlForward!) and am a co-founder of Brown Girls Food Club.
